A Practical Guide to Self-Hypnosis by Melvin Powers.

>> Sunday, 20 June 2010

A used book, purchased from a bookstore near the LRT Masjid Jamek ( and close to my working place in year 2011). Self-hypnosis, visual imaginary are among the topics which are elaborated in simple technical and understandable language.

It is interesting to learn that self-hypnosis is a just a simple believing process in everybody lives as described by the following paragraph

Who among us is not influenced by suggestion? Aren't we all, as we have seen, influenced by the suggestions of advertising? Don't we all have a tendency to believe what we read in the paper, hear on the radio or see on television? Aren't we all convinced that a name-brand article is better than one that is not so well-known?

Anybody can perform self-hypnosis on own and without help from a hypnotist. All of the 10 techniques are described in great length.

This book can be downloadable for free at the following link:

Who Moved My Cheese by Dr Spencer Johnson

>> Saturday, 1 December 2007

PARTS OF ALL OF US
The Simple and The Complex
The four imaginary characters depicted in this story --the mice: "Sniff" and "Scurry", and the little people: "Hem" and "Haw" -- are intended to represent the simple and the complex parts of ourselves, regardless of our age, gender, race, or nationality.

Sometimes we may act like Sniff
Who sniffs out change early, or Scurry
Who scurries into action, or Hem
Who denies and resists change as he fears it will lead to something worse, or Haw
Who learns to adapt in time when he sees changing leads to something better!
Whatever parts of us we choose to use, we all share something in common:
a need to find our way in the maze
and succeed in changing times.
