Einstein: A life by Denis Brian

I love this book very much. This is a snapshot which I  like.

"he had a private hovel, a basement room with no windows. It opened onto a corridor. It wasa adequately furnished and he had electric light, but it was dark and dreary and dumpy. But he was used to it, for Godsakes. You get used to anything. He was an instituitionalized human being when I met him. He could never have functioned outside."
