1. what happened later was that some men were appointed by the states as members of the Legislative Council.The Menteri Besar kedah nominated his brother to represent Kedah- the man who had never mixed with his own people.

2. AMCJA put up proposal for the people's constituition. they demanded all people of malaya should be known as Melayu irrespective of the race or religion. 3. the serious clash developed which led to an open clash between the rulers(Raja-Raja) and UMNO party.Sulatn kedah Tuanku Badlishah felt that to appoint an ordianry malay deputy high commissioner was to elevate him to a position over and above rulers (raja-raja).

4. Datuk Onn was severely attacked for proposing the automatic citizenship to the state and to the federation. he finaly announce he would resign as president of umno

5.in geylang communist were seen on lorries distributing cangkul handles and empty bottels to the rioters. what was surprisong that they were not stopped by the police for supplying rioters with weapons.

6. IN one area the rioters forced Datuk Onn and Tun Razak into a quick retreat when they pelted them with stones

7. Tunku Abd Rahman speech " according to mahatma gandhi a leader is a servent and offers himsekf to serve; his duty must therefore be to make sacrifices...this is the priviledge which God has bestowed upon me, and it is his command which I cannot disregard, which accept it with humility.

8.the first thing I said to the menbers of the comittee was : this room has been tapped, so I want you yo speak what you have in minds.

9. before we left for London, those present gave their unqualified and wnonderful sent off . Malay ladies showered us with money and jewellery. Tunku Puan Kursiah ( the first permaisuri agung) took off her bracelets and threw them from the balcony of the building.

10. The arrival in London created much interest. I had the feeling that he (Mr Oliver Lyttleton) was asked by the rules not to come to terms with us.

11. then the three of us ( with dr tun ismail, tun hs lee) left for the Singapore naval base, and to the jetty where The Alert was anchored. the exco members were waiting nervously ad worried as they did not know happen what as appening to us, and there was no news about us. Had we been dumped overboard?

12.IMP failed so badly that Datuk Onn decided to change IMP to Party Negara. He was opposed by the party which he had formed, UMNO

13. We had worked hard so hard and so throughly that the victory came as a real igt and a blessign to us. For first thing I didi was to pray to Allah and give him (T.H. Tan) our thanks
14. My grouse against the Federation Government was that they did not give us any house to live in or sant official cars to use. for the new federl ministers we had no homes, no cars,no welcome,and were treated like the unwanted outsact and intruders.

15.the stadium merdeka was built and completed intime for the declaration of independance. the workmen had to work shifts 24hours a day to get the dadium ready fo rmerdeka. it was bulit at a cost of $1.5millon. some referred to ita as a white elephant. later the satdium had to be extended at a cost of $16millon.

16. the high commissioner agrees that i could meet chin peng, but first i must not come to terms with him, and second i must not shake hands with chin peng

17.then preseident soekarno voiced his dissaproval of malaysia.according to him we are of the same race and we must belong to the larger group of malay race.in respect to philipine, macapagal had the same idea, accoring to him sabah belongs to philipines.

18. accoding to thse prisoners they were told in indonesa that they are mostly welcome to join the people of borneo and maalya who were sick with the new goverment run by the devil abdul rahman.

19.Bank bumiputera the government bank lost $2.7billion as a result of a loan to the Carrian Group.

20.i saisd if every chinese shop were to close suddenly even for a day, where would we get our rice, sugar,coffee,a nd the various essentials foodstuff for daily needs.

21. Too much critisism has been heaped upon the governmetn but most ppl feel taht there is no other party which can replace the barisan nasional, so for better or for wose they rather stick to the "Devil they know than the angle they don't"

22. after this (I recall with painful memory) I left the assembly with a few old faithfuls who accompanied me to the car, but the rest of the assembly continue their deliberations without even a break of a few minutes to bid me farewell.

23.party meeting today are more sophiscated than what we had in 1952we had it in a classroom of a correction school. we had to use the school chairs and tables, yet the meeting went on with great enthusiasm. today the assmbly is hild in the spacious hall of the putra world trade centre. I was not present as I didn't receive an invitation, but neverthless i was thrilled to see how well the general assembly turned out.

24. i have always maintained tha the governemtn must not indulge in business, this must left to the business community. there are many losses incurred by the government of late and this should be a good lesson to our leaders not to mix politics with business.

25. a stitch in time will save a tear.
